| Time marches on. People come and
go. Months become years. Yet only occasionally, an aquaintance comes along
that grows into a true heartfelt friendship. Patty, aka "Sexey-Sadie", is
one of those rare individuals for me. Generous to a fault, always kind and
compassionate, fun-loving and light-hearted, yet still possessing the
ability to put you in your place if she felt it necessary. I knew Patty very
well, and she was always willing to help anyone and everyone out, regardless
of affiliation. She knew how to keep things in perspective. And that is
rare, in this little game that we play. Patty was an ambassador to what we
do. She was a bright spot in what can be a dark hole at times. Those are but
a few of the reasons why so many people grew to love and respect her. When news of her passing became public, I witnesses a huge outpouring of sadness and sympathy. This was a testament and a tribute to how Patty had touched everyone's lives. Patty was always one to grab the bull by the horns and dive in headfirst, especially if it had anything to do with learning the ins and the outs of computers. She had a passion for soaking up anything that was new to her. Honestly, I had never seen anyone learn so much, so quickly, as she did. Which is why many of us reading this today went to her from time to time to tap her expertise. She took pride in being able to help others. And for that, we loved her. Yes, I am deeply saddened by Patty's passing. Yet I also feel deeply honored at the same time to have been able to call her "friend" for the last 4 years. She was the solid foundation of the T~D~T Coalition, and there will forever be a void where she once stood. But fallen does not mean forgotten. Patty lives on in the hearts of those that knew her and loved her. And nothing will ever change that. I am truly proud to have been given the opportunity to earn her friendship. Until we meet again, Sexey-Sadie...... Mark, a.k.a. "Silent~Prowler" |
